Addressing the chiefs and people of Ajumako in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency on Saturday, as part of the NDC presidential candidate’s just ended five-day campaign tour of the Central Region, Mr Ato Forson noted that a debate between the leaders of the two dominant political parties will inform electorates about the policies of the parties and help them make an informed decision on election day.

He said the Akufo-Addo government has since 2017 borrowed GHC152 billion and it is expected that, by the end of the year 2020, the national debt will hit GHC180 billion on the watch of president Akufo-Addo.

He added, the government has also generated revenue internally to the tune of GHC 367 billion. Mr Ato Forson said the huge revenue envelope the government has had notwithstanding, it has very few development projects to show for how it has spent all the money. He said inspite of receiving less resources than the present government, the Mahama administration built roads, hospitals, water and electrification projects, among others, all over the country.

“That is why I am appealing to President Akufo Addo to accept the challenge by Mr Mahama to come for a debate so that he can properly account for all the money he had borrowed and the internal revenue generated”, Ato Forson said.

For his part, Mr Mahama said time has exposed the lies and deception employed by the NPP to win power in the 2016 election. Mr Mahama therefore urged electorates to vote for him and NDC parliamentary candidates on December 7 for them to work hard to provide jobs, free primary healthcare and state-sponsored Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET)to equip the youth with employable skills in order to reduce hardship.

Ayawaso West Wuogon MP begins construction of drainage systems to end perennial flooding in parts of the constituency

Ayawaso West Wuogon MP begins construction of drainage systems to end perennial flooding in parts of the constituency

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Lydia Seyeram Alhassan has begun processes to curb perennial flooding which affects residents of Westlands and its environs.

The MP whose desire is to end the floods, deployed personnel from the hydrological services department to visit areas mostly affected by the downpour and also assess the drainage systems within such areas.

Head of drainage engineering Seth Kudzordzi who led a team of about 10 men to assess the situation observed that measures have been taken in the past to “desilt or dredge the drains but their efforts have not been successful”.

After a detailed assessment of the situation, he concluded that “the culvert is too small to carry the water discharged, therefore flooding the roads.

Mr. Kudzordzi explained that this new assessment will help to redesign a new culvert to bring an end to the flood, indicating that “once it’s replaced with a culver of adequate size, there won’t be any flooding again.”

The drainage construction according to Mr. Kudzordzi is expected to be completed within 2 months after the contract has been awarded.

The MP Madam Lydia Seyeram Alhassan charged personnel from the hydrological services department to treat the project as an emergency to help bring relief to residents.

Speaking to the media, she rejected claims that the timing of the construction of the drain was for votes in the December 7 polls.

“I have been MP for just two years, this is not the first project I am undertaking. I have constructed roads and other bridges so no one can say I am doing this for votes. They can’t say that”.

She further pointed out that “it is a natural disaster for which a solution must be found.

“It is a must-do project and that’s why I am doing it and not for electoral benefits.

Man Who Fell Into Yellowstone Hot Spring Completely Dissolved Within A Day.

Man Who Fell Into Yellowstone Hot Spring Completely Dissolved Within A DayBeneath Yellowstone National Park resides one of the largest magma chambers in the world. Thanks to this unfathomably hot fuel source, the water systems around the park can often be incredibly hot and stupendously acidic.

You should not take a dip in them. They will kill you, and science has confirmed that death is really quite bad for your health.Back in June, a 23-year-old man fell into one, and he died fairly quickly. Now, thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request by a local TV network, more grisly details of the cause and the aftermath have come to light.Apparently, he was looking for a place to “hot pot,” which describes the act of getting slightly singed in natural hot springs for no logical reason whatsoever. He leaned over to dip his forefinger in, in order to test the temperature of the waters, when he slipped and descended beneath the surface. The victim was found dead and drifting around the pool later that day, but officials could not quite reach him to drag him out.

A thunderstorm promptly arrived and forced them to retreat for the night. Returning the next day, they found that nothing of the man remained – except his wallet and his flip flops. In his incident report, Deputy Chief Ranger Lorant Veress pointed out that the waters were particularly hot and acidic that day. “In a very short order, there was a significant amount of dissolving,” he noted, as reported by Time.

Although incidents like this are clearly quite tragic, they’re also a testament to the incredibly daft lengths people go to show off to someone, be “brave”, or – in this case – have a very unique bath.Yellowstone’s geothermal ponds, pools, and geysers average around 93°C (199°F) at the surface, and they are far hotter just a few meters down.

They are fenced off and surrounded by a bunch of quite prominent warning signs for a really, really good reason. These watery doom portals are actually only inhabitable to a specialized bunch of organisms known as archaea. Are you a microscopic, extremophilic lifeform? No, we didn’t think so. So stay the hell back, and don’t try any of this “hot potting” nonsense unless you want to dissolve like a sugar cube in coffee.
