Ayawaso West Wuogon MP begins construction of drainage systems to end perennial flooding in parts of the constituency

Ayawaso West Wuogon MP begins construction of drainage systems to end perennial flooding in parts of the constituency

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Lydia Seyeram Alhassan has begun processes to curb perennial flooding which affects residents of Westlands and its environs.

The MP whose desire is to end the floods, deployed personnel from the hydrological services department to visit areas mostly affected by the downpour and also assess the drainage systems within such areas.

Head of drainage engineering Seth Kudzordzi who led a team of about 10 men to assess the situation observed that measures have been taken in the past to “desilt or dredge the drains but their efforts have not been successful”.

After a detailed assessment of the situation, he concluded that “the culvert is too small to carry the water discharged, therefore flooding the roads.

Mr. Kudzordzi explained that this new assessment will help to redesign a new culvert to bring an end to the flood, indicating that “once it’s replaced with a culver of adequate size, there won’t be any flooding again.”

The drainage construction according to Mr. Kudzordzi is expected to be completed within 2 months after the contract has been awarded.

The MP Madam Lydia Seyeram Alhassan charged personnel from the hydrological services department to treat the project as an emergency to help bring relief to residents.

Speaking to the media, she rejected claims that the timing of the construction of the drain was for votes in the December 7 polls.

“I have been MP for just two years, this is not the first project I am undertaking. I have constructed roads and other bridges so no one can say I am doing this for votes. They can’t say that”.

She further pointed out that “it is a natural disaster for which a solution must be found.

“It is a must-do project and that’s why I am doing it and not for electoral benefits.

Man Who Fell Into Yellowstone Hot Spring Completely Dissolved Within A Day.

Man Who Fell Into Yellowstone Hot Spring Completely Dissolved Within A DayBeneath Yellowstone National Park resides one of the largest magma chambers in the world. Thanks to this unfathomably hot fuel source, the water systems around the park can often be incredibly hot and stupendously acidic.

You should not take a dip in them. They will kill you, and science has confirmed that death is really quite bad for your health.Back in June, a 23-year-old man fell into one, and he died fairly quickly. Now, thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request by a local TV network, more grisly details of the cause and the aftermath have come to light.Apparently, he was looking for a place to “hot pot,” which describes the act of getting slightly singed in natural hot springs for no logical reason whatsoever. He leaned over to dip his forefinger in, in order to test the temperature of the waters, when he slipped and descended beneath the surface. The victim was found dead and drifting around the pool later that day, but officials could not quite reach him to drag him out.

A thunderstorm promptly arrived and forced them to retreat for the night. Returning the next day, they found that nothing of the man remained – except his wallet and his flip flops. In his incident report, Deputy Chief Ranger Lorant Veress pointed out that the waters were particularly hot and acidic that day. “In a very short order, there was a significant amount of dissolving,” he noted, as reported by Time.

Although incidents like this are clearly quite tragic, they’re also a testament to the incredibly daft lengths people go to show off to someone, be “brave”, or – in this case – have a very unique bath.Yellowstone’s geothermal ponds, pools, and geysers average around 93°C (199°F) at the surface, and they are far hotter just a few meters down.

They are fenced off and surrounded by a bunch of quite prominent warning signs for a really, really good reason. These watery doom portals are actually only inhabitable to a specialized bunch of organisms known as archaea. Are you a microscopic, extremophilic lifeform? No, we didn’t think so. So stay the hell back, and don’t try any of this “hot potting” nonsense unless you want to dissolve like a sugar cube in coffee.

Who is better between Messi and Ronaldo? Luis Figo ends the debate

“Who is the best between Messi and Ronaldo? Like many football players, Luis Figo did not escape this question. Asked by the media Goal on the eternal debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo a time ago, the former player of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid no less legend of the Portuguese selection gave an opinion that he is not the only one to share.

For him, in fact, we must stop comparing the two players and take advantage. He goes even further and declares that these comparisons between these two football monsters are heinous.“I don’t see one better than the other. The comparisons between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are odious and there is always someone who loses. I prefer to watch and enjoy his two players as the best of recent years ”,he had declared.

To compare them, he said, we would have to put them in the same and the same conditions.“It is impossible to compare them. You would have to put the two in the same team, in the same position on the pitch and at that point it would be possible to compare them. They will continue to be competitive against each other because they want to be better day after day and when someone is at your level you want to surpass them ”, he added.

Dr UN” Arrested In The Studios Of HelloFM (VIDEO)

Dr UN” Arrested In The Studios Of HelloFM (VIDEO)

Self-acclaimed Global Ambassador for the United Nations (UN), Kwame Fordjour, popularly known as ‘Dr. UN’ has been arrested.

He was arrested on the premises of Kumasi based Hello-FM by plain-clothed police personnel from Asokore-Mampong.
Last month, ‘Dr UN’ described as one of the greatest conmen in the annals of the country’s entertainment history, trended for all the wrong reasons.

A ‘diplomat’ and ‘global ambassador’ by self-description, with a doctorate degree that has its veracity as questionable as his personality, Fordjour accomplished a scam on a magnitude almost never experienced in the country.

Under the pretense of partnering with the United Nations and the respected legacy of the late Dr Kofi Annan, he contrived to organize an awards ceremony (succeeded quite brilliantly) and presented trophies and citations to over 20 accomplished Ghanaian personalities who he described as having achieved extraordinary feats in their endeavors.

He thus surpassed his own feat as one of the biggest frauds in the country’s history.
According to a report filed by PeaceFM’s correspondent and HelloFM’s General Manager, Samson K. Nyamekye, ‘Dr. UN’ has been on the radar of the security agencies for quite some time now, after a fake award ceremony he organized at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
He was arrested after it was reported that the award scheme held in 2018 was fake and subsequently tried by a Magistrate Court in Asokore-Mampong.
The court, presided over by Her Worship, Portia M.A. Salia, later granted him bail.

But after flouting his bail conditions, the court issued a warrant for his arrest.

In view of this when news went out that Kwame Fordjour was in the studios of Hello FM, the security agencies stormed the place and later whisked him away in an unmarked saloon car.

According to Samson Nyamkeye, ‘Dr UN’ has been remanded in police custody.

Mother of 3 Lunches Online Bootcamp Teaching Kid Addicted to Video Game How to Code

As information transforms into digital format, many businesses are turning towards technology. As this new economy develops, special skills like computer programming and coding are increasing in demand. CEO of CodeWithSharen, top computer programmer and a mother of three, Sharen Eddings, is ahead of the game by establishing a coding lesson specialized for the younger generation, but open for all.“Coding doesn’t only teach you about technicality, but also a lot of other skills such as critical thinking and problem solving,” Eddings stated. When the pandemic hits, Eddings was quick to act as she turns her coding class into a virtual lesson. She developed her own software to give her students the attention and engagement they need, regardless of the digital format. Her students consist of children from grade six and up. Her virtual class would start with an eight to ten-minute typing lesson, followed by an introductory video that walks them through the class schedule and lessons. The course would go on for an hour.

Coding began for Eddings when she was looking for a way to provide her kids with better healthcare and find herself a better career path. This motivation led to her initial contact with computer programming at a local library where she fell in love with it.

“I saw a lot of potential with the subject matter and decided to put what I learned into my resume. Two weeks later, I landed myself a job at a tech company, and it has changed my life ever since,” Eddings claimed, “I had better wages and opportunities and no longer saw the glass ceiling.” She then explained her experience working as a computer programmer as nothing short of remarkable, “Tech companies pay for their employees to think, they would even pay for you to continue your education,” she explained.

“I would brainstorm with my co-workers to solve a coding problem and talk to them about my family at the same time. Everyone knew about my sons and would even ask about them,” she stated, “In the tech world, you’re not merely an employee. You get to keep the role that you have outside of work as a mother, father, sister, or daughter,” she stated.

As a mother of three, Eddings feels the benefit of working in a tech company as they give her flexible working hours and the liberty to work at home. “Freedom” was the word she emphasized when asked to describe what success is as a coder, “If you can control your future in any shape or form, that’s a success. If you’re someone who is looking for a change in lifestyle, this is the job that you’re looking for,” she stated.

Her passion for computer programming pushes her to build her coding program. “I started small with just my son and his classmates four years ago,” Eddings explained, “Then, I started to volunteer in different schools, which soon turned into an after-school program.” Through the program, Eddings taught kids how to read, write, and develop code. “There was a lot of excitement for it! I started with fifteen students, which quickly became twenty-five as they kept on sneaking into my classroom,” she said excitedly, “At some point, I was trying to figure out how to multiply myself because the demand was becoming really high, and that’s when I came up with the virtual online lessons.”

With the pandemic setting in and the growing number of students, Eddings plans to take her virtual lesson to the next level as she seeks funding. “Seeking funding is pretty challenging,” Eddings admits. Even though the tech world appreciates her as a working mother, the investing firms? Not so much. According to a research study in 2019, there’s barely one percent of Black female founders in the tech industry who get approved for funding and grants. “Convincing parents to put their kids through a coding lesson can also be challenging at times. A lot of them think that their kids can’t handle it, which is not true at all,” Eddings argued, “In reality, kids are brilliant, plus, parents can also learn it too with their kids!”

Through Code With Sharen, kids won’t only learn how to code, but also how to expand their creativity. Eddings sets a time for her students to apply their skills into something fun and tangible. “That time is called Free Fridays, and during Free Fridays, students are encouraged to apply what they’ve learned during the week,” Eddings stated. She consistently shows her students the end product that they can work towards out of the knowledge they receive, which could be in the shape and form of web design or game development. “I remember having a student who was able to recreate the user-interface of a bridal website by the end of an after-school program!” Eddings proclaimed, “We want to teach children to become the producers of technology and not only consumers of technology
