2020 Polls: I’ll concede defeat after independent audit of results – Mahama

Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Mahama says he’ll accept the results of the 2020 presidential election if the Electoral Commission conducts an independent audit of the results.

Mr. Mahama and his party have rejected the results of the December 7 polls describing the election as flawed.

According to the NDC, their analysis of the pink sheets available to them shows clearly that Mr Mahama won the elections.

In an interview with Voice of America(VOA) Mr. Mahama showed a just cause for the NDC’s position, adding that the issues raised cannot be swept under the carpet.

“We are currently doing a forensic audit of all the constituencies first to establish what happened and then confirm the figures that we have. Because this case might end up in court…I don’t know, I cannot mention anything for now but we are doing an audit and based on that we’ll take whatever decision we need to take.

“But I think that in the interest of the more than 6million people who voted for me, I must uphold our democracy and hold the Electoral Commission to a higher standard and hold this government to a higher standard in terms of our democracy. The way President Akufo Addo and the EC have conducted this elections is a dent on our democratic credentials as a government. And so with my principles as a democrat, I can’t be seen to be sweeping it under the carpet and letting it go.”

Ex-President Mahama added: “I think that we must bring closure to this by seeing exactly where the issues are. If an independent audit is done by the EC, they’ll bring somebody in to crunch the numbers do an independent audit why not, I’ll be the first person to concede and walk away. But as long as that is not done and I know that there was a deliberate attempt to subvert the will of the people in favour of the incumbent it will be wrong for me in terms of our democratic practices to just leave it because we’ll not learn the lessons of this election. I think we must learn the lessons of this election so that we don’t repeat it in future one.”

The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has called for disciplinary action against lecturers of the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana for publishing what they call fake 2020 polls in the name of the university.

At a press conference held at the university on Thursday, the Department said a research conducted by some leading lecturers from the university showed that the President will record a first round victory.

But, reacting to the latest development, ASEPA, in a statement written and signed by its Executive Director, Mensah Thompson, said the University of Ghana’s Political Science Department has not conducted any poll on the 2020 elections.

“The polls being launched today is sole handiwork of one Dr Owusu Mensah who has been contracted to publish a fake poll to hoodwink the public,” part of the statement read.

According to ASEPA, the situation has angered a lot of the lecturers of the Department who feel the name of the university and for that matter, the Department was being used for personal gains.

ASEPA EXPOSES UNIVERSITY OF GHANA ON FAKE POLLS

We have called you here to demonstrate how some lecturers at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana have connived to launch fake polls clearly aimed at influencing the outcome of the 2020 Elections.

First of all, we want to State Categorically that the University of Ghana, Political Science Department has NOT conducted any polls on the 2020 elections.

The polls being launched today is sole handiwork of one Dr. Owusu Mensah who has been contracted to publish a fake polls to hoodwink the public.

Earlier this month, a Facebook post by one Edudzi Tamakloe suggesting that the Department has conducted some polls and was shelving it was brought to the attention of the department.

The department agreed to issue a rebuttal or disclaimer which was drafted.
The disclaimer was given to the Head of Department to issue on behalf of the department. The Disclaimer stated categorically that the Department has NOT conducted any polls this year.
The Head of Department failed to publish this rebuttal which had been agreed upon by the entire members of the Department and the letter drafted was on the 1st of November,2020.

Only for the same head of department who had written and signed those rebuttals to on the 24th November issue an invitation to members of the department that a survey has been conducted on the 2020 elections and they are invited to participate in the dissemination of the information.

This situation has seriously angered a lot of the lecturers of the department who feel the name of the University and for that matter, the department was being used for personal gains!

It is important to bring these issues currently happening at the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana to the attention of the Media and for that matter the public because it borders on the integrity of the premier University of this country.

That individual members of the university can initiate research activity in a private capacity and want to hang the results in the name of the university.

Secondly, which serious academic institution would decide to publish a poll at this critical hour leading to a major election?

We believe that these actions by Dr Owusu Mensah and the Head of Department of the Political Science Department cannot go unpunished for attempting to bring the name of the university into public ridicule.

We demand that University Disciplinary Committee Commences immediate investigations into this matter and sanction lecturers who may be found complicit in this brute attempt to defraud the public.

We also preparing to petition the Criminal Investigations Department to launch criminal investigations into the matter since it is a classic case of Academic Fraud perpetuated by these lecturers.

We humbly seek for a collaboration to aid in raising funds for the relocation of the Echoeing Hills Orphanage Home which is currently located on the Ashaley Botwe road.

The Orphanage Home has been given a notice to vacate its current location, which had been leased to them for the past 25 years.

They are therefore requesting for funding to enable them relocate by December, 2020.

The final funeral rites of Madam Victoria Agbotui is currently ongoing as family and sympathizers bid her farewell.

He added. “After almost four years of stellar, decisive competent leadership, we cannot go back to the era of incompetent, visionless leadership. “Ghana needs a stable, firm, and competent leader’s hands over the next few years to ensure we protect the progress we have made together, and to transform Ghana for all Ghanaians,” he told party faithful’s.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has today launched the ‘IAM4NANA’ fundraising campaign to support Nana Akufo-Addo prior to December elections.

The party has outlined a series of activities to raise fund to support the campaign. Some of these platforms include the website iam4nana.com, shortcode, adopting a polling station, among others.

Shatta Wale’s Manager Bulldogg Finally Reveals Why Nana Akufo-Addo Is Afraid To Debate John Dramani Mahama

Bullhaus Entertainment CEO, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldogg in the entertainment circles has disclosed why President Nana Akufo-Addo is refusing to debate the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.

According to Bulldogg’s post on Facebook, he disclosed that he has listened to John Dramani on quite a number of times and from the look of things he is on top of issues as to why Nana Akufo-Addo is scared to debate him. This is what he took to his Facebook page to share;

When you listen to H. E. JDMahama he’s on top of issues. I understand the reason why NADAA is afraid of a debate.”

The Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove in Ahanta West in the Western Region, Nana Akwesi Agyemang IX, has applauded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for engineering what he describes as almost all the towering development projects on Ahanta land.

According to the Omanhen, all the major development projects including schools, electrification projects and road rehabilitation on Ahanta land were masterminded by the NDC and dared to be shown any other major project done by someone else.

“If you look at anything good that is here in Ahanta West, it all happened during the tenure of the NDC administration. The Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School, it was done by the NDC, the Agona Nkwanta Market it was the NDC, the Sankor Senior High School, the Abura Vocational Technical, the commencement of the Princess town road. Even my own hometown Nfuma, the water project was done by the NDC. It was during the period of Hon. Arthur that Agona Nkwanta had light. So, they should show me something in Ahanta West that someone else has also added.”

Speaking during a durbar on a visit by former President John Mahama as part of his five-day tour of the Western Region, the charged Omanhen reminded the people of Ahanta West that it is an election year and asked them to “do an introspection, look around and do an inventory of all the development projects in Ahanta West and see if they were all not done by the NDC”.

Nana Akwesi Agyemang, however, appealed to the former President Mahama to construct a modern market and also continue with other projects that his administration started but could not complete when “he wins the 2020 Presidential Election”.

“You started the Sankor Senior High School but could not complete before you left office. We will plead that you complete it when you come back. You also started the Princess Town road but currently construction works have stalled, please pay attention to it when you come. The Cape Three Point and New Amanful roads all need your attention when you come. Again, I think Ahanta West deserves a housing project because Takoradi is choked.”

The Omanhen advertised the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ahanta West, Dr. Emmanuel Okumi Andoh, and pleaded that he is made a minister in the next Mahama administration.

According to him, he will personally be in Accra to ensure that his name is added to the ministerial list of the Mahama administration on December 8.

“…if this man does not deserve a ministerial appointment then what. He has been an astute teacher for years. He even became the Vice Chancellor of the Takoradi Technical University. Very qualified. …I will be in your office on December 8 to see to it that on your ministerial list will be the name of Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Okumi Andoh”

It should however be noted that the first and the last born have birth to girls, while the second born gve birth to a boy, it that is not surprising enough, you should also know that their parents are happy with what the man actually did.

This whole events seem so unbelievable, that if it was movie it would have made wave and seen a very sound and moral lesson to society but unfortunately it’s real.

Both the New Patriotic Party(Nana Akufo Addo) and the National Democratic Congress(John Mahama) are all winners, nothing bad is going to happen. The devil will killed.

Lordina out of politics because she can’t stand lies and propaganda – Mahama

Former President and leader for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has given reasons his wife is conspicuously missing from the political space in recent times even as he seeks to return to government.
He disclosed that the former first lady was traumatized by the lies told about her in 2016 and has decided to take a back role in politics.

According to him, she has decided to focus on her foundation so that her husband can also focus on his politics.

In case the NDC is declared winner of the 2020 election, Mahama says his wife will continue to focus on her Foundation and will not be actively involved in politics.

He indicated that the party currently has a female Vice President and will also have a gender Minister who will be championing issues with regards to women empowerment and anything centered on women.
