Bull Dog Jumps To The Safeguard Of Artistes Managers Against Stonebwoy`s Claims

After last Saturday`s edition of United Showbiz on UTV which was followed by almost all the players in our showbiz space, different commentaries have been generated from the show. Whilst some have praised Stonebwoy for his fluency, others have also criticized him for his position and understanding of the job of artistes managers in our music industry.

One of such people who have come against Stonebwoy on artistes management is Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson aka Bull Dog who happens to be the manager of Africa`s dancehall King Shatta Wale. Obviously after Stonebwoy`s fracas with his former manager Black Sidi, there seems to be a bad blood between the two and it showed in the submission of Stonebwoy yesterday when he was asked to talk about it.

Bull Dog disagrees with some comments he shared and has given a response to the 1GAD on his Facebook timeline. This website www.sammyflextv.com has published it below unedited for your knowledge.

The general disregard to Artiste Management as a profession, on United Showbiz the most watched and talked about TV Talk Show in Ghana hosted by seasoned and award winning actress, Empress Nana Ama McBrown on UTV, Ghana’s leading, most patronised and best-loved award winning television channel by one of Ghana’s top musical exports, Stonebwoy was so unfortunate.

If you have a situation with your management team please don’t generalise it.

To say which artiste manager in Ghana can show a certificate for management was distasteful and unschooled.
Let us learn to respect each other’s contribution in this space.

You were on the moral high ground about ‘disrespect in the game’ kindly heed to your counsel.

I’m not sure it will be appropriate for one to seek for an artiste’s certificate for them to be referred to as or become one.

Talent management is the knowledge or skill obtained from a period of practical experience with talents, especially that gained in a particular profession.

One’s handiwork and attainment in their chosen field makes them a master of their trade and not a certificate in form of a document.

Their unceasing success in their field of work is all the certification they require.

How joyous it would be to ask for a presidential certificate…

Talent management is a labour of love. Their efforts don’t generate into streams or laurels for themselves so their contribution to the grandiose victory is easily overlooked.

Talent Managers aren’t celebrated in this country because their tale of toil don’t get told.

Burniton Music Group Releases Statement On Alleged Attacks On Kelvyn Boy

Burniton Music Group, home of multi-award-winning Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has responded to comments suggesting its artist was involved in alleged attacks on former label signee Kelvyn Boy.

Earlier today (Monday, June 22, 2020), Kelvyn Boy in a series of cryptic messages on Twitter talked about an alleged attack on him during the opening of a business showroom in Ashaiman where Stonebwoy holds as a  ‘territory’

Although  Klevyn Boy did not mention any name, fingers were easily pointed at Stonebwoy his description of the events easily pointed to Stonebwoy who ‘owns’ the territory.

A statement issued by the label states “we state emphatically that we are in no way associated with the alleged scuffle”

ALLEGATIONS OF UNLAWFUL CONDUCT AT ASHAIMAN AND MATTERS ARISING

Our attention has been drawn to a series of tweets issued earlier today from the twitter account of Kelvin Brown, who was previously under our label, imputing criminal conduct against Livingstone Etse Satekla (Stonebwoy), the President and Chief Executive Officer of our organisation.

In these tweets, Kelvin Brown insinuates, and by use of innuendo, alleges that Stonebwoy is responsible for a scuffle that apparently occurred at an event in Ashaiman today.

Further, a group of persons, including an individual who is being held out by the media as Stonebwoy’s bodyguard, have been identified in social media reports to have been allegedly involved in the scuffle. These imputations of criminal conduct are very scandalous and calculated to cause disaffection for Stonebwoy, our organisation and our brand.

It is for these reasons that we are issuing this statement to set the records straight and correct any erroneous impression that may be created in the minds of the discerning public as a result of these tweets and media reports.

For the avoidance of doubt, we state emphatically that we are in no way associated with the alleged scuffle. Further, none of the individuals who are alleged to have been involved in the alleged actions has been and/or are in, the employment of Stonebwoy.

Our attention and energies are focused on shaping Ghana’s sonic landscape through Anloga Junction, Stonebwoy’s recently released studio album which is receiving critical acclaim and global recognition.

To suggest that we will divert our attention from our efforts to promote Ghanaian music to devote time and/or energy to an artist who was voluntarily released from our organisation can only be the product of an exaggerated sense of self-importance. Be that as it may, these spurious allegations are very damning and are causing considerable harm to our brand and our legitimate business interests.

As such, we have instructed our lawyers to take the appropriate steps to vindicate the legal rights of Stonebwoy and the brand of our organisation.

While the legal processes follow their course, we entreat the general public to treat these baseless allegations with the contempt that they deserve.

We are and shall continue to be law-abiding persons dedicated to entertaining Ghanaians through our music, BHIM merchandise and the charity works of our Livingstone Foundation.
